Takudzwa Chikepe is famously known as VaChikepe: The Poet is an International Poet based in Norton, Zimbabwe. ​ VaChikepe defines Poetry as a "State of Mind", as he also thinks in Shona and writes in English and vice versa. VaChikepe has 15 years experience in writing Poetry, he is grooming more than 200 Artists in Zimbabwe and has recently started another project called, "VaChikepe And The International Sailors Affiliates (Africa). This is a vision to cross borders between our countries, through Poetry and Art and to inspire millions of Artists in Africa. ​ Dreams, research, spirituality, music, animal and human rights explain VaChikepe’s writing style. ...And he will be starting his Masters in Divinity at Duke University in North Carolina, this fall. Being discovered and introduced to the American Poetry Community by Stan Galloway and Nicole Yurcaba (Bridgewater College), VaChikepe believes that tomorrow is another story to tell... As this year has started with VaChikepe being nominated as the Best Poet from Africa to compete for the prestigious (Mutabaruka Award for Best Poet/ Spoken Word Entertainer) by International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in Jamaica.
