Stephen Corey

Stephen Corey is the author of four poetry collections, six poetry chapbooks, and a volume of essays, all created somehow during his forty-two years as a literary editor--six of them with The Devil's Millhopper (which he co-founded) and thirty-six with The Georgia Review, from which he retired in 2019 to have more time for working on new books in both genres. Born in Buffalo and reared in nearby Jamestown, NY (home of Lucille Ball, Roger Tory Peterson, and 10,000 Maniacs), Stephen has lived in the South since 1975--first in Gainesville, Florida, then in Columbia, South Carolina, and since 1983 in Athens, Georgia.
